Continuing Education Opportunities
There are many options for completing your continuing education credits, and the Indiana Dental Association is glad to connect Indiana's dentists with these resources. Below are types of CE you can pursue toward renewing your license:
Local Component Societies Continuing Education
Every local dental society provides a great value to members by hosting a wide variety of continuing education sessions. Check your local dental society communication for details or call the IDA for contact information.
Indiana Ethics, Jurisprudence and Professional Responsibility
Our ADA award-winning, Indiana State Board-approved program on Indiana Ethics, Jurisprudence and Professional Responsibility is draw directly from the community of dentists, the ADA and from the Indiana State Board of Dentistry to address the “sticky situations' you face every day in practice.
The IDA offers multiple courses throughout the state on OSHA and Blood borne pathogen training to insure your office is in compliance. IDA speaker, Kay Maddox, provides a fresh, practical approach to a complicated subject.
American Red Cross certified training done in conjunction with regional OSHA updates will make your certification or renewal for CPR easy, affordable and educational.
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Update
IDA provides general overviews on this every changing subject. IDA speakers are available for component meetings and study clubs providing and update on the major sections of HIPAA along with commentary and tips on keeping your office in compliance with the federal and state guidelines.
Dental Radiology Self Study Program
IDA created a self study program for you to let your staff earn their radiology certificate while they work. This program includes everything you need to walk you through the state requirements, DANB testing and provisional permit to begin studying and taking radiographs.
IDA/IUSD Academy of Continuing Education
The IDA created a reliable, high quality academy for continuing education in conjunction with IUSD to provide 12 hours of continuing education from nationally know speakers in two sessions in the Spring and Fall at an incredibly affordable price. IDA Annual Session
The IDA hosts an annual scientific meeting that embodies the mission of the association with great continuing education and trade show exhibits to develop dentists and staff professionally. The Annual session also provides opportunities to shape the future of dentistry through Advocacy events and directing the future of the association through the House of Delegates. And often the highlight of the annual session is the opportunity to engage the community of dentistry at the Membership Celebration Reception, awards program and casual social settings with classmates and peers. IDA Advocacy Training
At the core of associations is the idea of combining a group of common interest voices into one “voice.” IDA is the voice of dentistry in the state, and we need to add your voice to that message. IDA staff trains members on the basics of grassroots advocacy, contacting lawmakers, messaging, organizing campaigns and fundraisers for champions of oral health. IDA Peer Review Workshop
The Peer Review Workshop educates local committee members on IDA specific peer review procedures and serves as a refresher course for our more experienced members. Participants can earn up to 6 hours of continuing education credits. The Workshop covers the following subjects:
