OSHA & CPR Course Information
OSHA Compliance Issues $75*

This OSHA review focuses on record keeping requirements, training, exposure control, hazard communication, emergency action, general duty safety and information on the new GHS labeling requirements.
Annual training is mandated by Federal Regulation.
Identify risks of exposure of infectious material and hazardous chemicals in the workplace
Identify personal protective equipment and exposure prevention measures in the workplace
Understand disease transmission of HBV, HCV, and HIV/AIDS
Gain knowledge of post-exposure management and record keeping
CPR Recertification $75*

The Basic Life Support course for health care providers is designed by the American Health Association to meet the needs of health professionals who are required to hold a current certification or who have continuing education requirements for health care workers. This course covers CPR instruction, two-person rescue adult CPR, child and infant CPR, foreign body airway obstruction removal instruction and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) instruction. Written and practical tests will be administered.
Demonstrate life-saving CPR skills for victims of all ages, including defibrillation
Identify sudden cardiac arrest and respond using the AHA chain of survival
Respond to choking emergencies and use airway adjuncts
Training is required once per licensure period for hygienists. Training is required for dentists under certain circumstances once per licensure period.

*Course fees are $75 per person, per course, and $200 for non-IDA member dentists. A 10% discount is available for groups of 8 or more registered attendees from the same office, regardless of courses taken.
**Indiana law limits hygienists to 2 CE credits for CPR training and 5 CE credits for dentists.
About the Presenter
Kay Maddox is a graduate of the IU School of Nursing and has practiced for more than 40 years. She serves as adjunct faculty for two Ivy Tech State College campuses, regional faculty for the American Heart Association and Training Center faculty for St. Vincent Hospital and Ball Memorial Hospital. Kay developed “On-Site Health and Safety Training Service,” which offers emergency response training in the workplace for nearly 3,000 lay rescuers each year. She has received Best Training Performance and Instructor of the Year awards from the National Safety Council. Kay has lectured to the dental community on OSHA compliance issues and trained in CPR Recertification for many years.

Important Notice: OSHA/CPR Refund Policy
Pre-registration is required at least one week prior to each course. You will receive an email confirmation once your registration is approved.
Breakfast is provided; lunch is on your own.
Notify the IDA if you have a disability requiring special arrangements.
Classes may be cancelled due to low pre-registration. You will be notified and refunded if this occurs.
We must contract with instructors in advance. For this reason, the following refund policy must be strictly enforced for our OSHA/CPR courses: Cancellation requests received by IDA seven or more days prior to the course will be honored with a full refund. OSHA cancellation requests received by IDA less than seven days prior to the course will be honored with a 50% refund. No refund will be given for CPR.
