IDA Foundation announces new grants


The IDA Foundation for Dental Health has announced grants to fund programs dedicated to dental education in Indiana. Funding was granted for the digitization of over 100 years of IDA journals, the IDA's inaugural diversity program, and a two-week educational experience for Kenyan students at the I.U. School of Dentistry.

Opinion: What's Your Legacy?

IDA award, officer nominations sought for 2013


The Indiana Dental Association now accepting nominations for specialty awards, to be presented at the 2013 IDA Annual Session. This is a chance for members to recognize colleagues who have played a significant role in advancing dentistry. Nominations for officers are also being sought.

Diversity program participants attend first session


The IDA’s inaugural group of AIR (Acceptance, Inclusion, Respect) participants recently began their two-year leadership development track. AIR accepts promising leaders who are members of racial, ethnic, gender and/or sexual orientation groups traditionally underrepresented in IDA leadership.

School of dentistry calls for IDA members interested in Kenya trip


A recent article in the ADA News focused attention on I.U. School of Dentistry’s academic partnership with Moi University School of Dentistry. This program is part of a 20+ years partnership between I.U. School of Medicine and Moi University in Eldoret, which is located in Western Kenya.

IDA Foundation sponsors Kenyan exchange students


For a second year the Indiana Dental Association's Foundation is sponsoring two exchange dental students from Moi University School of Dentistry in Eldoret, Kenya. The two students, Zipporah Rop and Nahason Maringa, arrived in Indianapolis August 14 to participate in the international dental program.

Jane Pauley dental clinic opens in Indianapolis


Noted American broadcast journalist Jane Pauley joined students from the IU School of Dentistry and Metropolitan School District of Warren Township in the cutting of a cluster of ribbons to celebrate a new dental clinic for underserved patients on Indianapolis’ Eastside, where Pauley grew up.

Drinks Destroy Teeth calls for volunteers, donors


The Indiana Dental Association's award-winning Drinks Destroy Teeth program is seeking additional member support. In addition to member input and volunteer time, the program's chair, Dr. Diane Buyer, is calling on IDA members for financial support to achieve the programs 2012-2013 goals.
