  • Professional advocacy at the Indiana Statehouse and in Washington, D.C., on behalf of the dental profession and oral health for patients.
     
  • IDA members receive the quarterly Journal Indiana Dental Association, monthly IDA Update e-newsletter, and other important alerts about dentistry-related news and developments.
     
  • We host quality, affordable continuing education. The IDA has invited world-renowned presenters to the 2014 Annual Session in Indianapolis. Along with the IDA/IUSD Academy, Ethics and OSHA/CPR courses, and the 10-Credit/Self-Study Foundations in Dentistry book, the IDA Annual Session offers Continuing Education courses for both you and your staff. The IDA will give away $42,405 in free member/staff education and events at the 2014 Annual Session! (Call us for more information about any of these programs at 800.562.5646.)

IDA Programs Need Your Support
 
  • IDPAC*:  This optional payment is used to fund the IDA’s Political Action Committee, which helps provide support to legislators who promote dentistry.
  • ADPAC*:  This optional payment funds the ADA’s Political Action Committee, which helps support the ADA’s national legislative activities.
  • Well-Being Program:  This optional donation goes toward the IDA’s Well-Being program.  Struggling colleagues are provided confidential assistance for recovering from substance abuse and/or addiction.
  • IDA Foundation for Dental Health:  With your support the foundation has recently supported dental education for dentists and dental teams, a free service clinic, disaster relief, and IDA student exchange program at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. 
  • Alliance of the IDA:  The Alliance gives spouses of IDA members an opportunity to support, educate and provide community activities regarding organized dentistry in Indiana.
  • Donated Dental Services:  This program arranges for Indiana dentists to provide dental care for patients who are elderly or disabled, and needs your help to continue its good work, as funding from the state is reduced every year, and grants have become extremely difficult to secure.

*Lobbying dollars are nondeductible. Dues payments and contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes to the extent that payments are not made to 501(c) (3) organizations. United States Taxpayers please note: Under tax law, only that portion of an association member’s dues not attributable to lobbying activities is deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. For 2014, 7.5% of ADA dues and 14% of IDA dues is allocable to lobbying activities and, therefore, nondeductible as a business expense.
